7 Quick Takes

Happy Weekend, all!
There hasn't been too much excitement going on here lately but we seem to be busy nonetheless.  Here's the latest from Casa Williams -

1.) April = Super dad month!  Bill has become super dad this past month, literally pulling double duty at work and at home with me being so sick.  Grocery trip runs, baths, meals, etc. have all fallen on Bill and he's done an awesome job as Mr. Mom!  This is what happens when he sits down, though:

2.) Addie Jo has turned into a snuggle bug even more so recently - just like her dad.  She snuggles every stuffed animal she gets her hands on (well, she'll snuggle anything, really) and will sometimes just sit with her hand on us:

I got you, Dad.

3.) Hair status - Addie's hair continues to get longer, just not in the front, and we continue to sneak bows in the few long pieces that lay to the side.

Party in the back hairstyle!

4.) Spring flowers have arrived in our neighborhood and the colors popping up everywhere are spectacular! Here are some of Addie and my favorites:

Flowers from neighbors after being in hospital

5.) We've been planting a little bit over here, too.  Guess who'd rather keep the plants outside the ground to carry around?

Here you go, mom

She likes to move them from one step to the other and back again
More help!

She could do this all day.  Does AJ not look like her dad? Think so.

6.) Since it's been in the 50s - 70s lately, we've been outside a lot.  AJ and I don't get very far on our walks but what we see is pretty exciting for a 15 month old!

Pinwheels!

Look who met us at the pinwheels

Starting to scowl because she thinks the cat is leaving

Yes a stray cat and Addie Jo are snuggling - mom of the year award - nope!

Couldn't help snapping these - she's waving and saying hi

7.) And last but not least - Verily Magazine is "what's happening" this week!  Janet and the girls have the first print issue coming out, and to get the June/July issue, there's only two weeks left to subscribe... and it's only $22!  It's just so exciting and I can't wait to get my hard copy in the mail!

Five Faves!

Joining Hallie for the first time in 5 Favorites!

The reason I haven't been blogging in over 3 weeks is because I've been sick sick.  I mean more than sick.  Cough/Flu/Pneumonia sick so badly that I didn't sleep more than two hours at a time over a ten day period and then spent three days in the hospital mid April to get some relief!  And the kicker is... I still have to lay low so pneumonia doesn't creep back up!
And with about 7 weeks til we meet our little puff, there's too much to do to be on "modified" bed rest!

But I'm glad to be back both reading and posting blogs after the hiatus.
Which leads me to my favorites -

1.) Blogging this year - it has really been such a great way to "journal" about what's going on in Casa Williams and I'm so glad to be in the blogosphere reading about such wonderful women and their family adventures.

2.) Being hospitalized.  Yes, I know, a weird favorite, but after getting to the hospital being hooked up to everything and getting meds and having this lil bug monitored, I FINALLY had SOME relief after being sick for so long!
Of course I'm still not 100% or back to normal, but just knowing that the antibiotics and breathing treatments were helping just lifted my heart while confined to the hospital bed!  haha

Someone came to visit me with her first happy meal in tow!

On the hospital bed eating ketchup!

Bill dressed her - hence the cute strawberry hair clip!

3.) Babies in preppy clothes.  Cute?  Think so!

Check me out, guys (shirt and skirt from Nana)

It's not easy pulling off this much preppy pink

4.) Boston: One. of. the. best. cities. in. the. world.  Period.
I loved getting to know Boston for 5 years and loved spending many weekends with my fun girls in this city.  I am so impressed by the spirit and strength this historic place has displayed this past week.  Just AWESOME.

At the Black Rose - a regular hang out for my Irish girls!
Hanging after the Southy Parade - a Boston highlight!

One of the many fun nights out in Boston - for Larkin's bachelorette back in the day

5.) Okay, enough reminiscing about life on the East Coast.
My final fave today is... Spring planting!

Tasteful Tuesdays

My first post all month so... I'll post about food (made and eaten back in March)!

This recipe was a hit with Bill, Addie, and my sister Katie and it was easy peasy!

Chicken Tacos!

Every time I get to use the crockpot, I'm all about it.  I need to use it more and am not sure why I don't; but I love it, especially when it's this easy!  This was my first time cooking chicken breasts in the crockpot - you should try it too!

Chicken Breasts and Salsa in the Crockpot for 2-3 hours (they cook quickly so  be careful, even on the low setting)
Cooked and cubed!
Salsa made in my fabulous Christmas present food processor!

Yum!
Beans, Rice, Corn and Onion Mixture
Plated up in Quesadillas with the works!

Katie's gluten free version without flour tortilla on the right.

A hit with Addie Jo

Cheese!

And there you have it!  Lots of happy eaters!
