Five Faves!

The reason I haven't been blogging in over 3 weeks is because I've been sick sick. I mean more than sick. Cough/Flu/Pneumonia sick so badly that I didn't sleep more than two hours at a time over a ten day period and then spent three days in the hospital mid April to get some relief! And the kicker is... I still have to lay low so pneumonia doesn't creep back up!

And with about 7 weeks til we meet our little puff, there's too much to do to be on "modified" bed rest!

But I'm glad to be back both reading and posting blogs after the hiatus.

Which leads me to my favorites -

1.) Blogging this year - it has really been such a great way to "journal" about what's going on in Casa Williams and I'm so glad to be in the blogosphere reading about such wonderful women and their family adventures.

2.) Being hospitalized. Yes, I know, a weird favorite, but after getting to the hospital being hooked up to everything and getting meds and having this lil bug monitored, I FINALLY had SOME relief after being sick for so long!

Of course I'm still not 100% or back to normal, but just knowing that the antibiotics and breathing treatments were helping just lifted my heart while confined to the hospital bed! haha

4.) Boston: One. of. the. best. cities. in. the. world. Period.

I loved getting to know Boston for 5 years and loved spending many weekends with my fun girls in this city. I am so impressed by the spirit and strength this historic place has displayed this past week. Just AWESOME.

Tasteful Tuesdays

My first post all month so... I'll post about food (made and eaten back in March)!

This recipe was a hit with Bill, Addie, and my sister Katie and it was easy peasy!

Chicken Tacos!

Every time I get to use the crockpot, I'm all about it. I need to use it more and am not sure why I don't; but I love it, especially when it's this easy! This was my first time cooking chicken breasts in the crockpot - you should try it too!

Chicken Breasts and Salsa in the Crockpot for 2-3 hours (they cook quickly so be careful, even on the low setting)

Our Little Hoosier

For those of you who don't know what a Hoosier is - a Hoosier is literally someone from Indiana... but like the classic movie, Hoosiers (one of my favorite movies of all time), it mainly pertains to basketball! I think there are more basketball hoops in the state of Indiana than anywhere else; and finally now there's a lil one at our house for Addie Jo to shoot on! (The Easter Bunny did a good job this year)

Easter Wednesday!

(Yes, I'm alive and yes, I'm a slacker once again, but I'm going to use the preggo card while I still can ;). I've got to milk it for all it's worth. Not only do I not sleep well at this point, but Addie Jo has cut out her morning nap and only takes a short afternoon nap so there's not a lot of resting going on during the day, which means I'm pretty tired at night to blog! Okay, I'll stop with the preggo excuses for now!)

Anyways, Happy Easter! We had a great Easter weekend with Bill off on Saturday, cookie making, a couple Easter egg hunts, and some Spring weather! Not only is Easter the most important celebration in our Faith, but it's also a very special time for Bill and me.

We will always remember Easter weekend 4 years ago because it was the first time he came out to visit me in Massachusetts. I was living with my sister Katie at the time and on the floor beneath the Martin family. Katie and I still laugh that Bill stuck around after having made him put sprinkles on the Easter cookies (which is by far the easiest part of the process).

We went to the Easter Vigil at St. Julie Billiart and he got to meet Fr. Jay, who later married us. We also got to have Easter brunch with Phil and Colleen and their 4 kids at the time, which had such an amazing impact on Bill because he said it reminded him to really reflect on what's important in life. We will forever be in debt to their Catholic witness, and to the example of Katie and Fr. Jay's, as well.
