Welcome, Fall!

The weather has just changed here in Indy and it it's about time makes me so happy!!!  This morning was the first morning I was worried about the girls being a little chilly while they slept (well not Addie Jo, she's a polar bear in the making, that one).  We still won't turn the heat on for a few more weeks because it will be back in the 70s soon, but just to relish in the crisp, cool nights and wake up in cool sheets is one of my favorite things (where do you think AJ gets the polar bear/sweat while walking across the room thing? :) And it might be the only Sahm trait she got, because the rest of her SCREAMS Williams, haha).

For me, this time of year, hands down, is the best!  I always remember liking Fall growing up, (probably for many of the same reasons many others do), and maybe it's because we truly have the change of seasons in the Midwest, but it really does make me feel alive again, and every breath I take outside seems to fill my soul.

Some of the BEST THINGS Autumn brings:

warm sunny days and cooler nights
the smell of campfires, and fireplaces burning,
friday night high school football games,
harvest moons,
the changing of the trees,
leaf piles to jump in (without the raking part),
pumpkin patches and apple orchards,
the Harvest,
Halloween and Thanksgiving,
candy corn,
warm drinks,
warm meals,
apple crisp and cider,
hay rides (especially on dad's mini wagon),
the crunch of dried leaves underfoot,
all things pumpkin flavored and pumpkin smelly,
jeans, jackets, and scarves,
Octoberfest and all it's glorious beer (sorry gluten free friends),
and my favorite color, ORANGE, is everywhere!

When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear,
Then we know that it is Autumn,
The lovliest season of the year.
