Banana Helado

This Tasteful Tuesday (posted on a Wednesday) is hard proof that we watch too much of this -

Disney Junior of course!

Because this recipe "easy dish" came from it... Banana Helado (banana ice cream, or helado de banana).  The hardest part of this recipe is cleaning the food processor when done.

Ingredient: BANANAS

First, slice some ripe bananas (we don't like them too ripe but they suggest using the banana bread-ripe-kind.)  I am definitely a "banana that might have a hint of green still on it kind of girl."  If there is any kind of brown on a banana, I'm passing on it - unless it's for banana bread or for this recipe:

Then put in a baggie to freeze:

I used 2 bananas but it works better if you freeze 3 or 4 at a time.

Next, take out of freezer, pop in food processor, and let thaw for ten or 15 minutes:

This next part is tricky ;) but you do have to blend for a long time.  Blend, scrape with spatula. Repeat...  until it looks like ice cream (helado) -

Yum!

Lastly, eat up!  Adelaide is a huge fan and I love it too!

* Blending in other fruit would be great, too, or topping it with coconut, chocolate, or fruit would be delish!

Happy Eating!
